My Gear S3 Frontier stopped displaying notifications for incoming text messages. They are listed in the messaging app, but the watch does not show new text notifications any more. I have tried to go to settings in the Samsung Gear app, but under manage notifications (where you turn notifications on and off for various apps), "messages" is not listed, so there is not switch to turn messages on or off.
This is not the issue where I don't have a messaging app on my Gear, because the app is still there on the watch, it is just not showing me texts and missing from the Samsung Gear app.

None of those worked for me.
I have a Galaxy S9 on sprint running Android 9 and my S3 model SM-R760 is running Tizen 22.214.171.124
I have reset the watch multiple times, my notifications are not off on my phone (which is a really bad solution btw, the point to the watch was to receive notifications regardless of the phone status), I have reset the connection from the phone to the watch, and all have not worked. It seems like the only time the watch is actively getting notificaitons is when I'm driving and have the phone plugged into my Android Auto config.
I would really like some input/feedback from Samsung as to what the issue could be.
See my post above. Once all notifications are on, be sure your phone is on vibrate or sound mode. If phone notifixanotifon my phone are muted, my watxgwill also not get notifications. I keep my phone on vibrate and in the gear notifications app, I select "mute phone while receives notifications."
This may be old, but fixed mine. I switched watches to the Ticwatch Pro a while ago. I added a messaging app to the watch and used the same on my phone. Today I switched back to my gear S3 and no notifications. A little digging and it turned out I was using the Google play store version of messaging. I switched back to the Samsung one that came on my s8 and it works again .Hope this helps somebody.
Did that at least 10 times with no luck.
My note 10 and the S3 Galaxy Watch no longer get text and email notifications on the watch. Very frustrating.
@usersNUl9tvh0P Are you using the stock messaging and e-mail apps?

My Samsung Gear S3 was not getting notifications from my Xiaomi M9 since 6 days. I tried everything, restarts, clear cache etc, none worked. And then turned bluetooth off and on. And finally notifications were coming again.
I had the same problem with my Samsung s3 frontier watch right after the latest update. It didn't receive any call notifications. I tried many things but I managed to fix it by resetting the watch to its factory settings. Always be sure that you remember your Samsung account password and email cause you will need It later on. After the reset I used the app in my mobile phone to connect with the watch as a new device. And that it. It worked for me
