After resetting smart hub to solve volume stuck issue

So, resetting the smart hub fixed the volume stuck issue, UNTIL I  tried to use the smart hub the next time.  Apparently the choices are only 2: have the volume fixed, but smart hub disbled, or use the smart hub and have the volume problem back again. Any way to get both to work?
