Hello. I bought a 55” curved MU7500 smart TV yesterday and as I was trying to set it up, a message said I should update the software before trying to connect to my Samsung account. Well, I did some research and the current version of the software is 1260 and my TV has the much older 1123 version, but when I try to update it from the TV menu it says that my TV has no update and the message “NOGENDATE” shows as an error code. Later on I tried to update it using a flashdrive and the same message appeared. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I’ve got it. The problem is when you download the firmware from the Samsung support page and extract the files, it creates a folder on your flash drive and the TV doesn’t recognize that folder. I just moved the update file from the folder to the flashdrive root and the TV was updated successfully. The TV also only recognizes a Fat32 flashdrive.

It seems like the TV won’t update online if the firmware is too outdated...

I recommend trying a factory reset of the unit then applying the update.

Nope. Brazil. Samsung doesn’t have a community in Portuguese...

Thank you for this info! As this is a non-US model and support for these models is very limited, please seek support for your area. You can do so here: http://www.samsung.com/visitcountry  Thanks!
