I am trying to reset tv. when I get to the screen where it asks for pin, I get the four white boxes but no ability to enter numbers. Smart remote, no keypad, etc.
please note: I have read other posts where the suggested solution is to press (as well as press and hold) the “123” button. When I do, I get a message that says “not available”.
Hello! I can definitely understand the concern with not being able to enter the PIN to reset your TV. Pressing the 123 button should pull up an on screen keyboard that allows you to enter the PIN. Have you tried manually repairing the remote by pressing and holding the back button and the play/pause button together? Additionally, you can try discharging the remote by removing the batteries and holding down the power button for about 3 seconds. This resets the remote, and often resolves minor glitches like this. You can also use a Samsung smart phone as a remote, or a different Samsung remote that has a number pad, to enter the PIN.
I have tried both removing batteries and holding both "back" and "play/pause."
Unfortunately, same result: I am unable to enter a pin as no numbers are shown to enter into the 4 white boxes. Also, when I press "123" button I get "not available" message.
