PN59D8000FF 59" plasma TV goes blank and has no sound. Issue is not the input. Based on the red standby light, it APPEARS to let me turn it on and off, but I cant see or hear anything and I cant do anything with internal menus either (menu, source, smarthub, nothing). I notice the red standby light flickers quickly when I try to do something. The only way I get out of it is to unplug and wait 20-30 minutes. If I only wait 5-10 minutes, I have the same issues. I have tried going directly to elect outlet vs through power strip. No difference. It happened after using TV for 3 hours one time, the next 2 times I had only used it for 1-2 hours, but after unplugging it again I was able to use it for 3+ hours with no issue.

Red light illuminating and blinking but no response Could be a faulty power supply board. My friend has similar issues with a TV about that old. One day it displayed same symptoms then never turned on again, bad board.

A bit of a new twist. Its happened a couple more times but I am now able to "reset it" by just shutting it off as opposed to unplugging it. When I shut it off with the remote, the standby light looks weak and blinks quickly , and then it comes on as if the TV is in a normal off state. I waited 20 minutes and then was able to turn it on as I would normally and it was fine for a couple days before it happened again.
