Samsung 6200 melting in the corner!

We were watching TV the other day and the screen freaked out and wouldn't show a picture. Streaks of color up and down the screen. Then we noticed a hot plastic smell and the corner of the screen bezel started melting! I'm guessing this isn't normal, LOL. We unplugged the TV and moved it out of the living room. I haven't a clue about the warranty status but I did find several posts here about other 6200's having a similar issue. Help! Is this repairable or am I getting another TV for Christmas?
