I have a Samsung 32 inch HD TV model LN32B360 that was purchased on Oct.19, 2009 so it is 10 years 8 months old. I just started having the problem that when I turn on the TV in the morning the Standby light blinks once and the last cable TV station I was tuned to shows up on the cable Set Top Box but the TV won't go on. Nothing appears on the screen and there is no sound. If I wait from 5 to 6 minutes and try again and press the remote or power button on the TV it will go on and stay on until I turn it off. I have seen possible remedies for similar problems on other sites but most say the TV never goes on and blinks anywhere from 2 to innumerable times. I have tried solutions for similar problems, but not for just one blink of Standby light. such as unplugging the TV and holding the power button on the TV for 1 minute but my problem is not solved. I don't think it is very long, but I will try to check that.
Although this TV is almost 11 years old I have never before had a TV that didn't last mch longer so if anyone has any ideas what the cause of this problem is I would appreciate their comment(s).
Also if I turn the TV off during the day and then come back the same day to turn it on I have the TV not going on until I wait 5 or 6 minutes and try again. However, if I turn off the TV when it is on and get a picture and sound and then immediately turn it back on I have no problem. I'm not sure how long after the TV is turned off there s no picture or sound.
When your TV has a black screen even when it's on, it's quite possible it could actually be your external device and not your TV. If your TV is connected using a One Connect Box, there are a couple of extra steps to troubleshoot.
·Press the Home (Menu) button on the remote.
Confirm the TV is set to the same source as the external device.
Test the HDMI cable.
Test different external devices.
If there is still no picture, use the following link to find a list of service centers near that can do the repair. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location
None of your suggestions seem to be the answer but because if I let the TV sit for several minites and try again it comes on I will just wait for it to come on. Just seems strange that it will come on and not long after I first turn it on. Almost like sometning has to warm up.
Thanks anyway for all your suggestions.
PS I don't have anthing connected to the TV except the cable box and printer.
I don't have a Connect One Box. This is a LCD HD TV . Menu doesn't appear when the TV doesn't power on. The only thing connected to the TV is a Verizon set top box for cable, and if that set top box is disconnected the TV still won't go on. If I go to self diagnosis it will only go to picture and sound tests as signal strength test is greyed out--I guess because when I do the test there is a signal or I wouldn't be able to see it.
As I stated in my first reply I am just going to turn on the TV and wait several minutes and try again as after several minutes it goes out of the standby mode and turns on. Thanks anyway.
PS Someone marked your first response as a solution, but it wasn't so I clicked on Not the Solution on Options.
By the way I made an error in my first reply to you as of course the printer is NOT connected to my TV. The only connection to my TV is the Verizon set top box.
