We spent $1700+ for this TV less than 3 yrs ago. Worked well and provided fantastic color and clarity, until it started turning on and off by itself a few days ago. I tried all the recommendations found here and across the net... unplug (for over a day) then plug back in, disconnect it from all hard wired inputs leaving only the power plug in, I remove the batteries from all remotes (the TV's own and Cable box remote) and tried using the manual ON/Off button. Still no solution as the TV still power cycles on and off.
Reading through this forum I am very disappointed in Samsung products that this seems to be a common issue with their TV's.
If anyone can offer me a suggestion on what to do or where to turn it I will appreciate it.
I just hope you're not facing the same problem as we owners of Samsung Bluray players and home theaters. Thousands of those devices began malfunctioning all over the world back on June 18-19. Some are power cycling on and off while others are locked in an endless loop trying to play Bluray discs. Samsung has no solution and is no longer even responding to customers. I've already replaced my home theater with another brand and I will never buy another Samsung product again. They're apparently too busy with their cell phone market.
Unplug the TV for 30 seconds.
Try to update the software.
Disable the Power On with Mobile option.
This type of issue will need to be addressed by having the unit serviced. If the unit is in/out of warranty you can use the following link to find a list of service centers near you that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location.
Thanks! It's been unplugged for months and still has the same issues plugging it directly into the wall. It doesn't actually ever completely power on, so I can't get to any of the menus. Am I relegated to service?
