BD-J5100/ZA Firmware Issue

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Just

Thursday, August 11, 2016

Updated my firmware on my

Samsung - BD-J5100/ZA - Streaming Blu-ray Player - Black

The firmware trashed my USB vedeo resolution so it is now so poor that I had to go back to my Roku 4 to view my USB vedio.

Why I liked Samsung (pre fimrware update) is the codex or files that can be view is 200% better than Roku 4. Which I guess makes sence the player is made to view almost any vid file

Again

If your like me and use a USB HDD or any USB files dont do the firmware update.

Dont do the Firmware update.

Firmware Update Fix

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Fixed

I think

After the Firmware update and the video resolution problem. I pulled the plug on the player. After about a hour I pluged the player back in connected the HDMI connected the USB video files

and

The resolution is good as before.

So

I dont know what fixed the USB video file resolution problem.

Un plugging the player for a few hours

Un plugging the USB HDD

Un plugging the HDMI

or

Just time for the firmware to settle in.

but

Hope fully this post will help the next guy/gal that have the same problems.
