I've seen a bunch of folks with semi-similar issues, but haven't been able to resolve this problem.

Got the S95B TV and Q990B Soundbar in Sept '22. I found this forum post, which was super helpful in getting everything configured properly for the best-quality video and audio:

https://www.avforums.com/threads/samsung-tv-s95b-and-soundbar-q990b-settings.2420641/

However - more recently, I have been experiencing really bad sync issues when using the 'TV + Soundbar (HDMI-eARC)'/Q-Symphony setting playing anything Atmos. With just 'Soundbar' selected, everything sounds perfectly normal, and really good. The moment I turn on Q-Symphony, it's like someone put a massive reverb/echo effect on the audio output, sometimes to the point where it's so un-listenable that we have to turn the entire system off/on to try and re-sync everything. Which doesn't really ever sustainably work.

I am experiencing issues only with Atmos content. Latest Firmware on both the TV and Soundbar.

When I play something with Q-Symphony on that's 5.1 surround, it all plays as expected. No delay.

I normally am using an Apple TV 4K, but tested with Disney+ on the Samsung built-in apps. Same issue, so it's not connectivity with the Apple TV.

Just got a new HDMI 2.1 cable for the eARC connection of Soundbar > TV. All HDMI inputs are to the TV directly, not via the Soundbar.

All settings are set up properly on the TV... it's just this sync issue.

If I mess with the delay (either on the TV or the Soundbar), I have to set it at 200(ms) in order for the audio between the TV and Soundbar to be synced up for Atmos content. But then the video/audio sync is off.

What's bizarre to me is that the Soundbar technically is getting the sound info after the TV (since the signal is going into the TV then to the Soundbar via eARC), yet the TV audio output is the thing that is delayed, while the Soundbar is correct.

Just had Abt out here (where I purchased the system), and they didn't see any problems with any setup/connections. They're going to reach out to Samsung and see if they have any firmware addressing this issue that isn't public yet.

Has anyone else experienced this or found a solution? At the moment, the best I've gotten from anyone is "turn off Q-Symphony for Atmos", which kind of defeats the purpose.

**I haven't had the energy to call Samsung customer service yet, because I can only imagine what that process is going to be like... trying to explain this highly technical issue to people who are going to tell me to turn it off/on and do factory resets.

I'll toss my hat in the ring. Also having this issue with S95B and Q990B. Stumbled across this post while trying to figure out why Ambient Mode won't stay on whatever I pick and keeps rotating by itself. "Glad" to hear I'm not the only one with the problem - I thought I was going crazy.

@Samsung_Moderator people keep adding to this thread having the same issue that I reported over 6 months ago.

I haven't received a response to my private messages, nor any update on this thread.

Can someone please let those of us experiencing this issue know what we should be expecting as far as a solution?

I suspect they are keeping quiet due to an potentially related class action taking place in California right now: https://www.tomsguide.com/news/samsung-and-best-buy-hit-with-class-action-lawsuit-over-tvs-what-you-...

I've also after digging further found the only way to achieve resolution in many of these cases is to file small claims 😢, it seems to be a common avenue many people have taken with Samsung on the consumer side.

Yeah that'd be unfortunate, but if you see one bug, there's probably 1000...

Same here, q-symphony is broken in the 2023 lineup tv  55s95B and Q930B soundbar. Reverb /echo only in q-symphony mode, unusable! Both running the latest firmware.

hey @Samsung_Moderator - Can we get an update? It's been 9 months since this issue was opened, and all that's happened is a lack of response plus a bunch of others jumping on board.

I bought 98”Q80C and Q990C in March 2024 and Q symphony was big + to buy Samsung soundbar… and I got exactly the same issue as described by Cosmic Ray…. 200ms solves audio sync issue, but than audio and video is out of sync….

Only solution I found is to turn Q symphony off while watching movies with dolby atmos.

It is not only issue with Disney+, it is also with Netflix, so definitely apps are not a problem…

Issue is Q symphony processing!

I updated latest firmwares (April 2024) on both devices and it is still not solved by Samsung… I have doubts that it ever will…

Hi, I had a 7S" QN94A TV connected to the Q990B soundbar, as soon as I changed the settings on the SKY Q audio from Normal to Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus, the lip sync issues started. Had to keep it on Normal which defeats the whole notion of having a Samsung TV linked to a Samsung soundbar.

Anyway, I thought I'd upgrade and bought the 77" S95C, it's a cracking TV. But the very same issues, the TV is set to pass through and with no issues in terms of lip sync with the SKY Q. However, when I change the setting on SKY Q from normal to Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus, lip sync issues return. I also have a Panasonic 4K 820 player, handles the Dolby including Atmos with absolutely no problems. I've read a few posts advising that you should connect the SKY Q box directly to the soundbar and connect the soundbar to the TV, but the Q-Symphony is turned off by default.

What's the point is spending thousands on something that obviously doesn't work as it's meant to. This issue has been around for sometime, you'd think the boffins at Samsung would have worked up a solution by now.
