Reposting - not solved,  this was purchased in the US.

After connecting my Denon AVR to my Samsung TV through the ARC HDMI ports, the TV recognized the device and I was able to successfully use the Denon AVR for TV Audio for several months.   4 days ago,  I powered on both units and the TV was playing through the TV Speaker.   The only 3 options for Audio are now TV Speaker, Bluetooth & Optical.   The DENON option that was previously listed is now not an option.  I have been troubleshooting for 3 days including calls to DENON support and Samsung support (Case#273-366-545).    I have been through every setting on both the TV and the AVR,  Reset the TV,  Factory Reset the Denon, confirmed good HDMI cable,  etc.    Nothing was touched between the time it was working fine and then not,  I simply powered it on and it suddenly didn't work anymore.   I'm guessing there was a software update that caused an unknown compatibility?   I was told to escalate the issue here from the Samsung support line.   Please help.

Hello! My apologies, but the model from the previous post had an ending that ended with an EU model. As for troubleshooting, you can try the following in the following order.

1. Turn off Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) on the Samsung TV and HDMI Control on the Denon.

2. Power off and unplug both TV and the receiver from the wall for at least 5 minutes.

3. Reconnect the HDMI cable securely to HDMI ARC ports

4. Turn on TV first, and enable Anynet+ again. Then turn on Denon and enable HDMI Control + ARC.

5. Go to TV Settings > Sound > Sound Output, and check if Denon shows up again.

If this isn't working, I would recommend trying a different HDMI cable just to see if this still occurs. Also, Just to see if it works, please try another HDMI port just to rule out any issues with that port. Please let me know if this helps.

Thank you.   My mistake on the model#.

I tried all 5 steps above and it did not fix the issue

I have already tried another HDMI cable and still have the same issue.   I also ran the test on the HDMI cable from the Samsung menu option and it is working properly.

Trying another HDMI port - both the receiver and the TV only have one ARC enabled HDMI port.   The Denon setup specifies use of the ARC enabled ports both on the receiver and the TV.   The system was working fine using these ports for a couple of months, and one day I turned the system on and the sound was playing thru the TV Speaker with no option for AVR sound source.

Are you suggesting trying a different port on the receiver or the TV or both?

Anything else I can try?    I have been trying to fix this for days now and had an extensive troubleshooting session with both Denon and Samsung.   The Samsung rep sent me here for deeper technical help.

Thanks.

It's alright about the model number, and my apologies, I meant a different port on the TV, mainly just to see if it's able to be seen at all from another port? If it is able to be seen, then the issue will be with the ARC port itself and will need service.

Thanks.

HDMI4 is the ARC enabled port on the TV.   That's the one I am using.   It definitely recognizes the Denon.    I can get to all the Denon menu/set-up controls using HDMI4 but Denon AVR is still not an option in the TV Audio output settings (only TV speaker, bluetooth or optical).  Before everything went awry, the Denon AVR was listed as a 4th TV Audio option.   When I connect the Denon to HDMI3 on the TV it all looks and responds the same as  it did when connected to  HDMI4.

Any other ideas?  I have been through all the settings on both the Denon and Samsung TV.   It seems like perhaps there was a software update (I use auto update setting) that messed up the  connection between the 2?   That's all I can think of.   Is there a way to go back to an earlier version of software?   I am willing to try anything to get my TV Audio playing thru the AVR again.

Thanks
