I have a new Samsung HWQ600F sound bar. Im having trouble getting quality sound at low volume. I find the remote hard to adjust the sound, I can't get the sound to be balanced between bass and treble. There's not much bass, the volume is not level as advertised. Overall the sound quality is a little better than the tv. What is wrong?

Home TheaterHello, userTIWYB1sh9r, thanks for letting us know that you tried switching to just the HDMI cable and not both the HDMI and optical cables. We're sorry to hear you're still not getting the stellar sound from the soundbar and subwoofer after trying the steps we provided, and we want to help get the soundbar to give the sound experience it's supposed to provide.
Here are some additional things to check:
* If the sound bar is plugged into a receiver, please connect the sound bar via a High Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet Support directly to the TV on the ARC/eARC ports
* Check for a firmware update on the TV and the sound bar
* Try moving subwoofer closer to the soundbar
* Try raising the volume to see if you can hear the audio from the subwoofer
* Try unplugging the subwoofer and plugging it back in
* Try unplugging the sound bar -all speakers/subwoofer as well as the TV/source for 1-2 minutes
* Try a different HDMI cable - the best type of HDMI cable is a High Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet support
This guide provides more details on the steps listed above: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01109875/
If the subwoofer still doesn't have good sound, please try these steps:
Run a speaker check:
While the sound bar is off, press and hold the Right navigational button on the Sound bar remote for 10 seconds.
If only 1 speaker isn't working, please use this step:
While the sound bar is Off, press the Left navigation button on the sound bar remote for 6 seconds.
Press the ID SET button on the subwoofer/rear speakers until the LINK button blinks blue. On the sound bar remote, press the Up navigation button for 6 seconds until the display shows ID-SET.
If the sound is not coming out of the soundbar, reinitialize the sound bar with these steps:
While the sound bar is On, press both the Volume buttons (Vol+ and Vol-) on the unit at the same time until INIT shows on the display, then let go.
So, hopefully, the steps above were able to take care of the sound bar and subwoofer's volume issues. If not, then it sounds like service may be needed. We have several options to get service set up listed below.

Home TheaterI tried using just the hdmi cable. The sound was extremely low until I connected a optical cable. None of the settings change using the remote.

Home TheaterI have the same problem. I think these sound bars are defective. Samsung should upgrade us to the next level up.

Home TheaterI am having a similar problem with my mobile device after the December system update. Bands 63 and 125 are grayed out on the 9 band equalizer effecting the deep rich sound.

Home TheaterHi @userTIWYB1sh9r, and welcome to the Community!
Thanks for posting! Getting a new soundbar set up should feel exciting, not frustrating, so let’s walk through a few quick things that usually help the sound bar sound much better at lower volumes.
Use HDMI ARC/eARC instead of Optical.
This gives the soundbar access to its full sound modes and usually makes a noticeable difference in clarity and bass.
Switch to Adaptive Sound.
This mode does a great job balancing voices, treble, and bass, especially when you’re listening at lower volume levels.
Give the sound levels a little fine‑tuning:
Bass/Subwoofer: +2 to +5
Center channel: +1 to +2
These small adjustments can make the sound feel fuller and better balanced.
Check the subwoofer connection.
The LED should be solid blue (not blinking). If you can, placing the subwoofer near a wall or in a corner often boosts bass naturally.
Turn off the TV’s sound processing features.
Options like Adaptive Volume or Sound Optimizer can interfere with what the soundbar is trying to do.
Please, let us know if this helps!

Home TheaterThe subwoofer is connected but nothing is coming out of it. I had to use both hdmi and optical cables to get sound from the sound bar. The sound never changed on any settings. I think it's defective.
