Can't connect Smart Home app to my NE58K9850WG Range

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Using a Samsung Galaxy S7 phone with the app.  It prompts me for the wifi AP name/password, then just sits after finishing "step 1".  No response, no progress even after leaving it alone for an hour.  

 

Anyone else having trouble with this?  Do I need a Smart Home hub?

Success!  I relocated the wifi repeater downstairs and more centrally-located and the setup software zipped right through.  Thanks for the tip!

How far away is the router from the range?

The main router is ~75 feet from the range, one floor below.  There's also a range extender on the upper floor roughly 35-40 feet closer.

It may be the unit is having a hard time with the network connection. Do you have any trouble with any other devices in the room?

My range won't connect to the smart home app although it's connected to wifi and shows the wifi symbol. No other devices in the house have trouble so what's the problem?

Having Same issue with washer. App picks up adapter. Asks for Ap name and password, I input that then says to wait but  nothing. After like forever it finally tells me setup not complete, try again.

So I'm running Android P on my Google Pixel XL 2 and had the latest version installed as of June 10, 2018 and could not successfully add the Samsung Duo Oven in the Samsung Connect App. I downloaded an older version of the app and successfully added the oven. Below is the link to version I installed. After you successfully add the oven you can update to the newest version. Make sure to uninstall any other editinge before installing the older one.

I have same problem, only difference instead of Samsung I am using an Iphone.

I can not finish the install, it connects to the Wi-Fi, it reaches 42% completion than gets stuck.

location 10 feet to the wifi router, I do have other devices connected to Smartthings app.

Any guidance?
