Can't remove refrigerator filter DA29-00003G

On my refrigerator (model RSG257AARS/XAA) we can't pull down the old DA3-00003G filter to put in a new one. We can twist it clockwise and counterclockwise but it won't release downward. This filter is too large for channel lock pliers as suggested for other filters. Help!

Hello. If you haven't already, try turning off the water supply, and then turn the filter counterclockwise while pulling it out (or down).

 

If you are still unable to remove the filter take a look at the link below with additional troubleshooting steps.
