Re: Compressor noise on new RF263BEAESG/AA refrigerator

JUMP TO SOLUTION
It should be noted that the article for noises has been updated; gurgling noises that are exceptionally loud may indicate service is required: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=669481&modelname=RF2...

However, if a technician has actually come and looked at it and deemed it normal, there's nothing customer service can do to override that except offer to have a different technician (if one is available) come look at it.

If the technicians are closing the service request without actually coming out, when you don't want it closed, that's an issue. However, you're also running the risk of having to pay for the service trip fee if the technicians continue to not find anything wrong. This is especially the case if the noise simply doesn't happen while the technician is there, which is why it's vital to record the noise happening before setting up service.

The only options I can see for you at this point is requesting a different technician, if one's available.

But yes, a loud gurgling noise -could- indicate an issue with the refrigerator. It's worth setting up service for. But when a technician comes out and says it's working, customer service's hands are tied. They're not there physically looking at the fridge, the technician is, so technician gets final say. If your true issue is with the technician, then getting a different one may be your only option.

Re: Compressor noise on new RF263BEAESG/AA refrigerator
There is a snap on, or clip on, plastic guard on the compressor wiring terminal that does not fit correctly. This will make a loud rattling noise when the compressor is operating.

The solution is to roll the unit out from the wall, remove the lower back panel and pry off the plastic guard. Throw it away and the noise will go away.

Best of luck, Robert

When you held down the 2 buttons, which codes came up? That will help you to know at least what general area it's in (if the codes are correct, I guess.)

I was just told that it will be almost $700 (plus almost $90 service call already paid) to repair the fridge. But reading all of the other posts, it sounds like even if all FIVE parts are replaced, its a risk to break in other areas. Normally that would be the choice. But not this time. Less than 2 years old, and not understanding why it isn't on recall list.

Saw these headlines today:

Lawsuit claims Shelby GT350 transmissions overheat when tracked

Four owners allege breaches of warranty by Ford, loss of value

So four owners run their cars on the racetrack and they overheat, and that's worthy of a class-action lawsuit against the manufacturer ... we have many more people here complaining of compressor problems with our brand-new Samsung refrigerators without any kind of abuse.  Hmmm ... just sayin'.

Did your new fridge have the same problem?  We have been experiencing the girgling sound for two years. Any suggestions?

for all:  not sure if this will assist, but I found this thread while googling "samsung fridge noise" and read through all the comments.  After reading them, i continued with other google matches.  This youtube video solved my problem.  Perhaps it will solve some of the ones posted here.
