The door opening feature has never worked and it is turned on…next step questions/help needed:

This is a new unit. It has never been installed under a countertop and I can see the top (actuator/solenoid apparatus and top fan along with associated wiring). The unit is level and the door opening feature is turned on.

Questions:

Is there an error code thrown for a problem with this feature — Electrical/solenoid problem and/or the door simply not opening (ie the system tried to push it open but it couldn’t [like the door was physically stuck closed and wouldn’t budge]?

Is there a way to directly tell the dishwasher to attempt to open the door (test/service mode) so I can watch it without running a wash cycle? If not, what is the shorted cycle I can set so I can physically watch the opening process to see if it even tries to open the door? I have the same questions with the top fan? Also, are fan and door opening features related in any way?

I have nothing to compare my unit to but the door seems hard to pull open (for the first 6 inches or so and then it swings quite freely).

This kind of thing is so irritating because a relatively simple FAQish Troubleshooting Guide that goes beyond [1] Is it turned on… [2] unplug it and replug it in [3] Call a service technician and be forced to spend more time and/or money than it’s worth to fix. I know DIY dudes often screw things up by getting in over their head but in these situations it’s worth the risk when dealing with a $1,000.00 or under item that requires installation / reinstallation with professionals. Even if it requires using a multimeter to test electrical connections, most anyone can do it and/or find a friend/neighbor/relative to do it for them.

End of soapbox. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.
