I have a Samsung 48" Side by Side Built In Refrigerator Model # RS27FDBTNSR 26.5 cu ft w/ 8" Touch Screen. Bought it in March 2016 and have loved it.
The problem is the flap does not open to let ice drop. When you push a cup to dispense ice, you can hear the ice drop but can't get past that flap. Open the freezer door and the ice is sitting in the **bleep** being held in by the flap. So I can tell the flap is not just opening on weight of the ice.
Ideas on whether this is a mechanical issue or an electronic control issue?
Also is there a Samsung approved repair company in vicinity of zip code 75032?

I understand this is frustrating. The dispenser issue could be either mechanical or electrical, and determining the exact cause will require a technician to look at the unit. I am including information for the two service centers in your area.
