I have also had problems with our ice maker and dispenser. Model RF23M8590SR.
I bought the fridge 3 weeks ago and it has been serviced 3 times with all sorts of parts replaced but no solution.
Thankfully samsung and the service provider they've recommended have been helpful, even if they can't fix the ice maker and I'm currently waiting on hearing about a refund.
My issue is this: I LOVE this refrigerator. I love the flex drawer. I love the auto fill water pitcher and I love the look of it. I really wish the ice maker worked properly (the main issue now is dripping from the bottom of the tray; wet ice; water before ice during ice dispensing)
have there been any solutions to this samsung? I really do want another refrigerator just like this or the chef collection counter depth but I'm concerned I will be buying the same problem twice.
Any feedback would be so helpful...
from a tentative samsung refridgerator purchaser
OMG, I wish I had read this BEFORE purchasing our Family Hub 2.0 28cuft. I also purchased a new Gas Range, Dishwasher, Flex Washer & Dryer and Microwave. I actually switched out the Samsung Chef Collection for this Refridgerator!
This Ice Maker SUCKS, I have tried everything suggested. We are a Home with only 2 People and it cannot keep up, we're not consuming mass amounts of Ice either.
My Model is RF28M9580SG/AA,RF28M with Serial # <Hidden> that I purchased 06.02.2017.
Strange thing also, when I go to the Samsung Site where I registered the Appliances and select Request service, the next Page has all my Appliances and the Request Service button EXCEPT the Refridgerator! Things that make ya go Hmmmmmm......
So, if I want to get Samsung to fix it under Warranty please Samsung tell me HOW? Do I need to request through Best Buy where I purchased for you to them say you cannot deal with a third-party referred Service???
Sadly, we're 6 months in and our ice maker completely covers with ice underneath the base (if you pull out the ice storage, the whole base of the mechanism has a good 1/4" of ice on it). The ice was completely frozen into almost a solid block. We turned off ice maker and let it thaw enough to "unjam" the ice and thaw out the underneath. Used the reset button and almost 20 hours later, had about 20 pieces of ice........ but yes, the underneath is forming a nice layer of ice again.
Also, i talked my husband into letting me get the french door model with the water pitcher that fills automatically, in the door. Now, it's not automatically filling when you replace the pitcher. It's so random, sometimes 1/2 sometimes 1/4 full.... Needless to say, HIGHLY disappointed in this very expensive purchase.
I'll never be able to talk him into purchasing a Samsung again. HUGE disappointment. Just waiting on something else to go out on it.
