I have side by side RF28HMEDBSR/AA. After initial icemaker failed, I ordered newer model icemaker DA97-15217D and it seemed to work for a few months. It's gotten so bad again that after I push the reset button, it chimes, drops the ice, but then it chimes again and doesn't drop ice unless I push reset button again many hours later. It's a beautiful refrigerator but we can't live without the ice maker working properly.
I have model RF263T. Had the same issues. I didn't get the symbol to change the water filter, but decided to replace it anyway with the oem Samsung Water Filter. After doing all the required flushing, I reset again, it chimed, ice drops, then a few hours later, ice began dropping. Hope it works for you if you try it.
