Left knob on the electric range won’t fully turn off

Left knob on the electric range won’t fully turn off, even in the off position. It doesn’t get hot, but the little knob light is on and the fan is on. One time it did get hot and started burning a pot, so now we make sure there is nothing on it or it’s a fire hazard. How can I fix this? Thanks so much, and would much appreciate your response soon if possible.
