My larger front burner has started randomly turning on. The burner starts to heat up and the knob is in the off position. The first time that it happened, nothing was on the burner. When it happened again tonight, I realized that it was on because I smelled something burning - I moved a lunch bag onto the stove. Again, the knob was in the off position.
Since this was the second incident, we are no longer putting anything on the stovetop.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening. We purchased this stove along with the matching microwave, which has it's own issues - the door handle has broken off but we can manually open the microwave. Both items were purchased in 2014 and I'm pretty sad that their lifespan seems to be pretty short.
