This happens occasionally, I usually pull out the ice bucket and re-insurt and it starts producing.

This time it won't start, it's been two days.

I can't find the reset button.

model RF263BEAESR

Thanks

Hi everyone –

There are a lot of different cases in this thread. There won’t be a one-fit solution for everyone.

Here’s what to do if a block of ice forms in the freeze ice bucket:

  • Clear away the ice away and look for a white wire hanging down from the ice maker.
  • If you see this wire, please private message us to request service. If you don't see the wire, then it's possible the ice is from a spill in the ice bucket. Continue to use the refrigerator, and if another block of ice occurs, service is required.

Thanks for the link but, it started up again on it's own.

Any ideas why?

Why would re-inserting the ice bucket make it start making ice again?

Thanks

Is there a switch that needs to be engaged when the icemaker in my RF23HCEDBSR slides back into position? If there is ice build-up, will I be able to see it... or might ice be built-up in a spot that I can't see?

My main problem is that suddenly (and a couple months after the end of warranty) the ice make has been dripping water... and the ice cubes have a slushy surface texture... like they are not being frozen correctly. I've turned down the temp to -8 and checked the freezer drawer to make sure nothing is blocking what appears to be holes to a duct that goes up to the ice maker?

Can anything else cause water dripping from the ice tray down and out the chute?

Here's a link on how to reset the ice maker: http://support-us.samsung.com/nas/storage/201406271751003%5Estorage_attachment%5EHow_To_Reset_The_Ic...

a lot of times the ice maker needs to be reset.  Has the water filter been changed recently?  Air in the line can cause it to drip as well.

Hi - We have  the French door model but the freezer is on the left side.  We took out the jam of ice in the freezer and blew hot air from the hair dryer on it as well.  What should we do now?

Hello all

I thought I will share it as I had as others lost it for a bit.

I just fixed my ice maker. It had all symptoms described here, reset button did not work, nothing .

I have found out that the reason is clogged drain hole in the upper cabinet.

Yeah, go figure.

I have followed YouTube video how to unclog it and voila the ice maker is singing and dancing .

https://youtu.be/vE10_puZWKo

I also made a recommend fix and I hope that will work for years.

Good luck

This is a fix that worked for me on my less than 1 year old Samsung Refrigerator to stop drain issue that was causing ice to form under crisper drawers.

I will never buy another Samsung product as long as I live.  Our very expensive French door fridge is only a year and a half old and every two weeks the icemaker freezes up and stops making ice. Now I must hire someone for $$$ to come and fix it.  The warranty expired at one year.

Next, I bought their professional oven and cooktop because I am a serious cook.  The cooktop has been a nightmare.  It cooks way too hot, burns everything even on setting 2.  The fast boil burner takes 15 minutes to boil a little bit of water.  They are a sham!!!  Buyer beware.  All bells and whistles and horrible performance.
