Kitchen and Family HubThis happens occasionally, I usually pull out the ice bucket and re-insurt and it starts producing.
This time it won't start, it's been two days.
I can't find the reset button.
model RF263BEAESR
Thanks

Hi SamsungLarry. I realize you are asking the person before me for this information, but I am curious what you might do in this situation? It would seem that there are a lot of people that are having the same problem and Samsung isn't helping them. We purchased our fridge brand new in 2015 and I started to accept that I just don't have an ice maker any more. I have tried talking to Samsung with no recourse; I have tried following youtube instructional videos that work for a few days; I have also recently called a repair person only to say no when they want to charge $70 just to come look at an issue that should of been resolved by Samsung. None of those options work for me. Why has the ice maker not been recalled by Samsung when it is all over the internet that there is a problem? I miss having ice without having to get out a hair dryer and spend time and energy just to have ice for a few days before it freezes up again. Samsung needs to make this right!

Kitchen and Family HubSadly we cannot guarantee coverage for out of warranty units. While paying for a repair is not usually a well liked answer, it is an answer nonetheless. At this time, this is not a known issue that Samsung is making any accommodations for. Due to this, we research each symptom on a case by case basis to see if the unit qualifies for anything we can offer. In cases where we can't necessarily offer anything other than out of warranty repairs, we can at least help refer to authorized repair centers should you wish not to use someone unauthorized.

Kitchen and Family HubTo be honest, I don't think having a normally functioning ice maker is a known issue. The failure rate seems to be around 100% from what I've gathered (by the time you get to the 3 year mark anyway)

Kitchen and Family HubI just found this thread. I’ve had my fridge for 1 1/2 years and my ice maker hasn’t worked correctly for about 6 months. It freezes up and it’s almost imposssible to pull out the tray so I can chip away at all the frost build up so it can make ice again. It’s a terrible problem. Samsung needs to acknowledge this and fix the problem ASAP. I will never buy another Samsung product since this is how they treat their customers.

Kitchen and Family HubThank you for sharing your solution. I have been using a blow dryer to defrost the ice maker so we can use it. Both problems are not acceptable when you buy a Samsung product. What do you do with your food for 24 hours especially frozen items?
I think Samsung needs to do a recall and either replace our refridgerators or send parts that will correct these problems completely. A Clauson

Kitchen and Family Hub+1 more fridge with icemakers problems, but according to the samsung employee answering these posts - the 46 pages of people with the same problem is a "unknown issue"
Samsung, didnt your lessons learned with the exploding cellphone batteries teach you anything? When you have thousands of customers complaining about something - A ISSUE DOES EXIST.
You guys need to fix these crummy ice makers because paying anything for 1.5 year old appliance that cost 2-4,000$ is assinine.
I tried all the fixes i could find on the internet, i tried defrosting it, resetting and creating babies with it, nothing works. This is a problem whether or not you bury your head in the sand or not.
Last time I buy Samsung, glad i got a Sony 4K TV instead of some cheap junk made by you fools. Next to go is my cellphone, hello Apple!
