My 1.5 year old Samsung refrigerator icemaker stopped dropping ice. The tray fills but the ice will not automatically drop. If the reset button is manually pressed, the motor starts, the ice drops and the tray refills. Then a chime sounds. The temperature is set at 2 degrees. Water pressure is good and the filter is new. Ideas?

If ice only drops from the ice maker if the test/reset button on the ice maker is pressed, verify that the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the display panel. When Ice Off is enabled, the ice maker is turned off. However, when pressing the test button, the ice maker will harvest any ice that is in its ice tray.
To verify that the control panel is working properly, enable and then disable the Ice Off function.
On rare occasions, Ice Off may be enabled but the display indicator no longer functions correctly. In this case, service is required.
Mine is having same problem. I have thawed it out several times and seems to work for awhile then stops again i think mine may freeze up gets excess ice build up. Not sure if i should just replace it
