I have refrigerator RF260BEAESR for only 6 months and only use ice maker three times.

Now, the water filter indicator light turned red.

How did this happened? How to fix it?

After you replaced the water filter, did you reset the water filter light? The water filter light operates on a timer designed for average household use and will turn on after 6 months. You can find this on the control panel. touch and hold the power coll button and the fridge button for 3 seconds until the light resets. The filter icon will turn either turn-off or change back to its normal color when it's reset. This starts the 6-month timer over again.

Since I bought this refrigerator six months ago, I never replace water filter.

And, I only use ice maker to make ice three times.

Why does original water filter only workign in such short time? (Three times)

Again, you would have to reset the water filter light. There is no sensor that lets you know the water filter defective or has expired. It is simply a timer for the water filter light. Have you tried resetting the water filter light?

Thank you. You answer my question. I'll reset it when I go home.

I have tried this several times, leaving the refrigerator off for as long as 15 min, and the filter lite will not reset.
