Resizing widgets

Is there a way to resize the widgets. For example, when selected white board app/widget would give you an option to select different size widgets. Sometimes given the option of two or three sizes. 

I selected on size and now I don't have the option to select the different sizes. Can someone help.

You can't size it, but must replace it with one of the other sizes offered.

If you install a 3rd party launcher, like Nova Launcher, you can resize all your widgets. I've been using Nova Launcher for many years. 🙂

For example in the picture the app weather you can select different sizes. But once you select a size you are like locked in that size. Is there a way to change the size of the widget.

This app gives you option but never placed on home screen. That's why size options are available.
