Purchased Samsung range some years ago, electric burners got really hot, not able to control.  Purchased a new range and it’s not two years old and having the same problem.  What’s up?

I understand how this may be a cause for concern, please look at the information below to see if this helps!

It's pretty rare for the cooktop to truly be broken and hotter than it should be. One way to test is to start with the cooktop element turned off and at room temperature, and then turn it to Lo and leave it there.

You might see the element come on briefly and get dark red, but usually you will not even be able to visually tell that it's on. If going from room temperature to Lo, the element glows bright red, this will require service

Otherwise, your cooktop is working correctly. Just keep in mind that food will burn if left unattended for too long, even on the lowest setting.

Note: When removing the knobs for cleaning, make sure to put them back on their correct stem. Some cooktops have dual or triple surface elements; if the knobs get switched around, the temperature may seem wildly incorrect.

If the information above did not help then you have a couple of options based on your warranty.

- If your unit was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.
- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service set up.
- If you're within the one year warranty, you can Private message me or one of our moderators with your full model and serial number to have service setup
- If you're OUT of warranty, you can use this link below to find a service center in your area.
