Water and Crushed Ice Light stays on - Ice will not dispense

I have the Samsung Family Hub fridge with the ice/water dispenser and three doors. 

For some reason, all of a sudden the water and crushed ice lights are on and stay on and we cannot dispense ice. The ice maker works but no ice will come out.  I have reset the fridge (family hub) and the ice maker and the problem persists. I have unplugged the fridge and the problem persists. 

Anyone have any remedy for this?

Try the following:

 

Make sure that the child lock is not on.

 

Check the wire harness

This step only applies if one or both of these are true:

  • The sound of the auger motor cannot be heard when trying to dispense ice.
  • The refrigerator has never dispensed ice since the last time the doors were reattached.

When attaching the doors, it's important to correctly connect the wire harness. Instructions can be found in the user manual in the section for attaching the doors.

 

Samsung recommends that you change your water filter every 6 months. If your water filter has not been changed in the last 6 months feel free to purchase one on Samsung.com or samsungparts.com

 

Power Cycle the unit for about 5 minutes

  • You can do so by unplugging the unit or turning it off at the breaker.

 

If the above troubleshooting steps didn't help, here are some service options:

 

- If your unit was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange process.

- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service set up.

Yes, i can confirm that the child lock is not illuminated. 

The only two lights illuminated  are the water and the crushed ice.

I have the same exact issue and Samsung said they'll send a technician and bill me for the repair. Imagine that, $3-4K fridge that didn't last. 

You spend money on premium products hoping they'll serve you well. Not on this one. Don't buy this specific fridge. Seems to be happening to a lot of customers. Their distributor in state mentioned they've had plenty of customer complaints about this issue, just so happens it happens when you're out of warranty. Let's get better Samsung

I have this same problem. It's almost as if there's a power shortage behind the water/ice dispenser control. Mine will flicker if I press hard right above the control. The "night light" also flickers. This sounds like a Samsung issue that may out to be a recall..... ehh I work in the right industry to find out.
