I removed the ice bucket from the refrigerator yesterday to make sure it hasn't started to freeze over again. When I put it back in, the cubed ice and crushed ice functions are reversed. When in cubed mode it crushes ice and is substantially louder, like a grinding noise (which is to be expected when crushing ice). When in crushed mode it dispensed uncrushed cubed ice and is quiet. The buttons are simply reversed.

When I remove the ice bucket, close the door, and operate the ice dispenser, the noise level is quiet when switching between crushed and cubed. I'm thinking there is something wrong with the actuator arm on the ice bucket itself and not the mechanism that changes modes internally. However, the actuator arm seems fine and moves freely and appears to open and close the door as it should. Any suggestions to fix this?

Hey, try checking the rod on the back of the ice bucket to see if it has been compromised. After that unplug the unit for about 2 to 5 minutes and plug it back in. If this does not help I recommend letting a service technician have a look. As we would like to gather additional information and look at this from a case-by-case basis please provide the full model code and the serial number of the device as well as your best contact phone number, name, and email.
