Hello, Mistydawnoday, Welcome to the Community!
There's nothing better than having cold, filtered water on hand, so we understand your concern with the autofill pitcher not filling after replacing the filter. We want to help get this straightened out.
Here are some questions to help pinpoint the issue:
- With your refrigerator, do you have another dispenser? Does water dispense from that dispenser?
- Or is the ice maker making ice after the filter was replaced?
- If the fridge isn't dispensing water at all, it may be a filter area issue.
Since you mentioned you're seeing some water in the reservoir/overflow area, this could be the reason why the pitcher isn't filling.
There is a sensor in that reservoir that will trigger the filter not to fill if there's too much water in that area.
This is what we'd recommend trying:
- Remove the pitcher from it's housing, make sure the pitcher, the lid, and the housing are dry.
- Pull the plug to remove any water that accumulated in the overflow reservoir at the pitcher housing.
- Replace the pitcher and make sure the control panel setting for the pitcher is on.
This guide gives more details on the steps mentioned above.

If after trying this, the pitcher still isn't filling, or the reservoir/overflow is still filling with water, service may be needed.

KitchenYes. We’ve had the fridge since 2023. Also the little tray under the filter accrues water so thinking something is broken?

KitchenNo matter how many times one has changed a filter, it can still be not seated correctly. It's possible that if you forced it something could be broken, but the filter itself could also be defective. The fact that water is leaking could indicate a defective seal or gasket - even a crack in the housing. You should try first removing the filter and inspecting it and then reseating it. If you have another filter handy (I know they are expensive, that's why I buy third party filters), you can try it.
