Model- RF32CG5400SR

Hello, I have a Samsung 3 door refrigerator with the bottom freezer and the where the freezer handle is is essentially a trough with a large handle in the middle.... well after only a few months it smells like DEAD is being emitted from the handle.... I've tried pouring a lil baking soda and a few days later I've tried vinegar and still dead.

I always thought it was poor idea to a spot that will catch crumbs or liquid directly beneath the fridge opening so of course this would be my first issue.

Yes I've cleaned the fridge and freezer with no luck, I don't see any exposed fasteners on the freezer door assembly so I'm guessing they are on the bottom. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR INSIGHTS before I start tearing the freezer door apart?

Hey, userISm0R70sPB, thank you for sharing this concern with us. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and the unusual experience you're having with your French Door. Odors near an exterior handle are uncommon but can sometimes be related to trapped debris in the door gaskets or stagnant water in the drain pan beneath the unit.
I understand you have cleaned both the handle and the pan underneath the refrigerator. Even if the handle itself is clean, it is possible that the order has migrated to the door's rubber seals. You can visit the link here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10006824/
Or you can follow some of the basic troubleshooting steps below. If you have any further questions, please feel free to send a private message to one of the moderators (including myself) by going to the profile and clicking "Send a Message".
1) Inspect and Clean Door Gaskets: Food residue and moisture often collect in the folds of the rubber door seals, creating sour odors. Pull back the folds and wipe them thoroughly with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
2) Check for Interior Spills: Inspect the interior door bins and shelf tracks near the handle. Even a small leak from a container can drip into hidden tracks or under shelves, where it continues to smell.
3) Air Out the Unit: If the smell persists, you may need to unplug the appliance, remove all food, and leave the doors open for several hours or even a full day to allow the materials to de-gas.
4) Use Natural Deodorizers: Place a shallow bowl of activated charcoal, fresh coffee grounds, or a new box of baking soda inside the unit near the door to absorb lingering molecules.
