LED and OLED TVsI just purchased this TV a couple of months ago and the Nintendo Switch 2 as well so both are well within warranty. I am just not sure what is going on.
The first time I ever connected my Switch 2 to my TV it never came up with a logo, much less recognized it as a game system. I had to go into the settings to tell the TV it was a 'Game' and then could access game mode. On my previous Samsung the Nintendo Switch logo from my original Switch would display among connected devices.
I have my Switch 2 set to 'Automatic' resolution which outputs at 4k. However my issue is with what the gamebar is telling me about the display and what happens when I play the system.
When nothing is selected and the Switch 2 is off it displays 0 Res. and 0 FPS. When I turn on the main menu of the Switch it displays 3840X2160 and says 60FPS. This is just on the menu. When I play an older, original Switch 1 digital game it shows 4k at 60FPS.
The FPS never changes on the game bar, but if I go into the Switch 2 menu and manually set it to 1080P the display says 1970x1080 at 60FPS.
Here is where I am having an issue. I bought a Switch 2 game and this is also a feature in some current and upcoming games. In the game's menu there are options for resolution and FPS to gear if you want the game to look or play better.
Performance mode displays 1080P with 60FPS while Resolution is supposed to display 4k @30fps. By setting this in the menu it should respond with the display.
However no matter what I do the game bar always says 4k @60FPS. New game, old game, performance, resolution doesn't change as it should. The resolution only changes if I force it to on the Switch 2, which the game bar reflects, but I have never seen the FPS change until I shut the Switch off and it shows 0.
Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I have no idea what to do and could use some help.
Thanks in advance.
