LED and OLED TVsMy 77-inch S90D just turned into a massive, expensive paperweight today. Out of absolutely nowhere, it completely refuses to power on.
When I contacted Samsung Tech Support, they openly admitted that this is a widespread issue and that many other owners have reported the exact same failure. But here is the kicker: because my warranty expired exactly two weeks ago, Samsung is completely washing their hands of it. Nobody is willing to help.
Instead, they expect me to foot the bill for the repair myself. Even worse, I'd essentially be paying out of pocket to install the exact same faulty power supply, meaning the TV could just die again in another 12 months.
For a flagship TV at this price point, lasting barely a year is completely unacceptable. If Samsung is fully aware that the S90D has defective power components, why hasn't a recall been issued? Letting these TVs brick themselves and leaving customers stranded just because they are a few days outside the warranty window is incredibly poor practice for a global brand.
Has anyone else had their S90D die? If so, were you able to successfully escalate this, or did you find a specific course of action that worked? I'd really appreciate any advice.

LED and OLED TVsHey there @ziv_nergal, and thank you for reaching out to us. I totally understand how frustrating this is and am happy to assist you! This is something that would require service and I would like to gather some personal information, so I can look into possible accommodations for you ๐ Can you send me or any of the other mods a private message with the full model code and serial number of the TV?
