I download movies in MKV format from sites like <hidden> and want to play them on my Samsung QLED TV (2023 model). Which apps on the Samsung TV App Store, like Plex or VLC, handle MKV files best, including subtitles and high-bitrate 4K content? I’ve noticed some apps lag or don’t support certain codecs. Any settings tweaks or app recommendations to optimize playback?

LED and OLED TVsHello! Thank you for reaching out! Most streaming apps will have the specs they are able to play when looking on their website. Plex generally supports most file types. But it's only free at home and does have a subscription service. But you will also have to create your own media server. But generally for playing home media, it's more of a preference to choose which to use as some are easy to use and some or way more in-depth.
