When I turned my TV on about five minutes after it goes black screen, then I have to turn it off. Wait five minutes and turn it back on and it works just fine. Does anybody know what the issue is?

My Samsung won't turn on to a channel. It's a black screen. Then I punch in a channel # and it's fine.

Hi  @Mdn1959 , welcome to the Samsung Community!
Thanks for taking the time to share what's going on with your TV โ€” I know how frustrating it can be when the screen goes black out of nowhere. Letโ€™s try a few quick things that often help with this type of issue:

Power reset: Unplug the TV for about 5 minutes, then plug it back directly into a wall outlet. (Not a power strip)
Check for audio: When the screen goes black, see if the sound is still playing. If it is, it often points to a backlight issue.
Flashlight test: Shine a flashlight at the screen while itโ€™s black โ€” if you see a faint picture, that confirms a backlight problem.
Remove external devices: Unplug any HDMI or USB devices and test the TV by itself.
Check ventilation: Make sure the TV isnโ€™t too close to a wall and that the vents arenโ€™t blocked.
Software update: If the TV stays on long enough, check for updates under Settings > Support > Software Update.

If the same issue continues after trying these steps, the TV may need service for a potential backlight or power-related issue.
Please let us know if this helps!

Sounds like the backlit, what TV is it, try a flash light on the screen and see if you can see anything

Samsung does not have the part that needs to be replaced. They are replacing the TV now
