Hello, I am reaching out to hopefully find someone who has a similar model TV as my dad's. I am not in the same town as my dad and he is older and needs help with his tv. We recently had all of their old home movies digitized and they were hoping to be able to watch the videos on their tv. Their tv is a 2017 model #QN55Q75FMFXZA smart tv. When I was with them recently I did investigate and figure out that it apparently doesnt support screen sharing with iphone/ipad. I also tried the Samsung Smartview app and it wasn't supported either. The "imemories" app where the videos are is not available on their tv app store. I have tried to find a list of apps for that tv, but apparently there isn't one and since I'm not with him, I have no way of knowing what's available. Can anyone with a similar tv that old help me by suggesting an app that may work? I'm able to download the videos to store elsewhere, so I'm hoping to find an app with a cloud based system that I can upload them to so my parents can easily watch them.
If I can't find an app, we may just have to try using a usb with the video files. I need something that will be fairly easy for them to operate. I ran across the Samsung gallery, but apparently that is only for tv's 2019 or newer. Also they both have iphones and not android.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist!

LED and OLED TVsHi there @kmctrinity! Thank you for reaching out. The easiest method would be to plug up a formatted hard drive to the television directly to watch the videos instead of casting them from device to device. Buy you'll want to make sure that it's formatted before adding the content to the drive.
Let us know if this helps and thank you for being a Samsung customer!

LED and OLED TVsAlso, is it fine to leave the drive plugged into the tv all the time? That way they just switch the input when they want to watch.

LED and OLED TVsYes, generally it is okay to leave the formatted hard drive plugged into the TV at all times.

LED and OLED TVsSorry to bother you again. If I buy a brand new external hard drive, will it come already formatted or will I need to do something to it before moving the files to it?
Also will any hard drive work? Does it need to be a specific kind to work with this TV rather than a computer?
Thanks for any help as I’m not super knowledgeable about these things. I’d hate to buy a drive and add all the files and then it not work.

LED and OLED TVsFor external hard drive compatibility with Samsung TVs, ensure your drive is formatted with FAT32, exFAT, or NTFS, and check your TV's manual for specific file system support and any capacity limitations.
