Looking for help or suggestions. Have a QN85Q80BAFXZA and our remote stopped working. Contacted Samsung and they sent out a new remote. Still didn’t control the tv. The button on the tv only allows for power, channel up, channel down, volume up, volume down, and source. No menu options. Also tried to download the SmartThings app to control remotely via cellphone app but the tv must’ve disconnected from our home wifi as it’s been a few months since we’ve been able to use the tv. QR code won’t allow the tv to connect to SmartThings. Is there a hard reset on this tv without a remote? What are my options? Thank you!

From everything I'm seeing you would need a remote to perform a Factory Reset

To reset a Samsung QN85Q80BAFXZA TV to its factory settings, navigate to Settings > General & Privacy > ResetYou'll need to enter your PIN (the default is 0000) and then confirm the reset. This process will erase all settings, accounts, and downloaded apps.

Detailed Steps:
  1. Turn on the TV: Make sure the TV is powered on.

  2. Open Settings: Press the Home button on your remote to access the Smart Hub, then navigate to and select Settings.

  3. Navigate to General & Privacy: Within the Settings menu, find and select General & Privacy.

  4. Select Reset: Scroll down and select Reset.

  5. Enter PIN: If prompted, enter your PIN. The default PIN is 0000.

  6. Confirm Reset: Select Reset again to confirm.

  7. Wait for Restart: The TV will automatically restart with the factory settings.

Gary, appreciate the response. Only issue is I’ve tried multiple Samsung remotes and none are able to control the television. Crazy that I can’t find a way to get to the settings menu direct on the television button to try and reconnect wifi, reset the tv, etc. I’m baffled at what else to try.

@bambam2 Sounds like this might be a TV problem instead of a remote problem.
