LED and OLED TVs1. Try resetting tv remote: Remove the batteries and press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds then reinsert the batteries.
2. Remote may need to be paired properly to TV
3. Check for stuck buttons on remote! (This is a very common issue that will keep red light illuminated)
4. Bad remote: will need to get it replaced. Check on amazon marketplace for a new one.

LED and OLED TVsHello jbal52, welcome to the back to the Samsung Community! While it may be upsetting to be experiencing some frustration with your remote, Iโm happy to let you know that weโre here to help! Please check the troubleshooting steps below to get your device working as intended.
First:
Reset your remote.
If you have batteries in your remote remove them, now press and hold the Power button for eight seconds. If you have a newer model you will need to press and hold your Return and Enter button instead.
Second:
Check if the remote is sending a signal. Take your remote and point it at a camera on your phone. Look at the camera screen and it should show whether the remote is sending a signal or not.
Should you happen not to see the signal, please replace the batteries. If new batteries donโt work then you will need to replace the remote.
Third:
If you have a smart remote try to pair it with the TV.
Press and hold return and the button that is diagonally up to the right of return. (This button normally has 4 colored dots but may vary.)
Now stand within 1 foot of the TV and press and hold Return and Play/Pause simultaneously for at least 5 seconds.
If your remote still fails to connect you will need to contact us.
Let us know whether this worked or not, we look forward to your response.
