I recently attempted to perform an available update for our new Samsung bespoke ai washer. Now I can no longer select the start button on the screen. It is registering a press but the button doesnโt action. We can still use the washer by utilizing the delay function where the start and pause buttons work after the delay begins. Any ideas on how to either roll back or force a reinstall of the firmware?
Hello @Angrycustomer1234, Thank you for expressing your concerns with the start button after the recent update. I can understand how this inconvenience can be very frustrating. I have listed a few steps below that could assist you. with getting the unit back to normal. First perform a hard reset by unplugging the unit for 5 minutes, and while the unit is unplugged press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to get rid of any residual power. Next you would want to make sure that the child lock is not on You should also reset the SmartThings connection. To do this remove the washer from SmartThings app and then add it back. If none of these steps work the firmware may have been corrupted and a technician would have to come out to check the control board. I hope that this information was able to clear up the issue. Same thing for me too. After the software update I can no longer select any washer functions. The "more cycles" screen is blank. The power off reset Samsung mentioned does not work. I got back some functionality by using the app to change the display theme. With the washer turned on, go to the app and choose "control theme". The digital dial theme will give you a vaguely useful interface. As for Samsung's response below, it is ludicrous that a corrupted update could occur and that it requires a technician to fix it. I've had dozens of smartphones that each have performed dozens of updates and not once did an update destroy the functionality of the phone. To top it off, our washer came with a physical factory defect that a technician had to repair, and now its first software update has rendered it largely useless.
