Hello and Welcome to the Community, malahitte! We understand the frustration with having your dryer go out 3 or more times and having to have wet clothes while the dryer is being repaired. We want to help.
- When you find the dryer not working because of the thermal fuse, is it that the dryer's just not heating, or is it not spinning or both?
- Does the dryer show any sort of information code (an alpha-numeric in the time remaining part of the display)?
Thank you for sharing that the exhaust vent was replaced and that you're not finding any air flow restriction.
From your description, you may have already tried the Vent Blockage Test, but if not we would recommend trying it. While it tests the air flow exiting the dryer, it does also check a few other parts of the dryer, and these steps are for your dryer model.
- The Dryer needs to be empty and cool before starting.
- Power on the dryer.
- Press both of these buttons at the Same time: Time and Start/Pause for 3 to 4 seconds.
- The letters InS or In appear on the screen. (the dryer needs to be powered off and on again if another cycle was running right before trying this test).
- Press the Start/Pause button like you're starting the dryer to run a cycle
When the test finishes after 2 minutes, it will display a code on the screen for about 5 minutes. - If the code reads Clg, Cg, C90, C9, C80, C8, there is a blockage in the venting (these codes run from fully clogged to about 80% clogged). We would recommend having the venting cleaned by expert personnel.
- If the code reads 9C1 or HC there is an issue with the power connection. HC can also indicate a vent condition. If after checking that unit has the proper power requirements/installation, and code continues, service is needed.
- If the code is tC, service is needed.
If the steps in this test show a code that indicates service is needed or you wish to request service, please feel free to reach out.
