LaundryI just bought my washer-dryer combo and the delivery guys showed me how to set it up and general settings including turning the drum light on from a small icon on the main screen. They ran a small wash cycle to verify it was running, then left.
After the cycle was complete, my Smartthings app informed me there were 2 updates available. I started the updates, and half-way thru my Smartthings said the unit was offline. The washer was stopped on 60% for almost 1 hour. I ended up calling support to see what to do, and after a 5-minute unpluging, it started the update again, stopped at 60% for 10-15 minutes, but finally finished. I don't know what the older firmware was, but the new one is:
AWM-US-M64-24-WD80MU / 20250923.103430
When I turned the unit on the next day, I noticed the drum light button was missing. I can't see how to put it back on the main screen.
It requires 5 clicks to turn the light on, and it only stays on for ~2 minutes.
Does anyone know how to make it easier to turn on? It would be real nice to have the light stay on more than 2 minutes, especially when you're unloading after it finishes!

LaundryI found the answer on another Samsung forum that works for this model. It seems the new software update implemented a new โswipe downโ menu like on iPhone. Just swipe from the top of the screen down and you get a menu including the drum light. No clue on how to change the light duration though.
Also frustrating that the update doesnโt indicate in any way that this feature is there. Hopefully the next update addresses this.

LaundryThat's unfortunate that the light button seems to have disappeared. Have you tried once again to unplug it an plug it back in to see if it reappears?
I never had a dryer with a drum light, and I was always able to unload my laundry just fine. It makes sense that the light would stay on for less than 2 minutes, as when unloading a dryer, all one has to do is tumble the laundry out into a basket. I would think the light would only need to be used to check if something was left in the dryer, like a dark sock or something.

LaundrySometimes you need/want to look into the machine mid cycle

LaundryPersonally, I just can't imagine why, since looking is not going to tell you if your clothes are dry. If I want/need to look inside mid cycle, I would just open the door. If this is one of those units that is both a washer and dryer in one, the drum light won't tell you anything during the wash cycle either.

LaundryYes, itโs there. It funny, they put small up arrows at the bottom of the screen to indicate a menu swiped from the bottom, but nothing about the top!
At least I donโt have to click 5 or 6 times to turn the light on. Thank you!!!

LaundryIโve been looking for this for a while now, they should at least have a video tutorial when implementing changes like this
