A ton of things going wrong (I swore I would never buy another Samsung again after similar issues with a previous monitor years ago)
Unless I use the cable that came with the monitor (I purchased certified DP2.1 cables) the machine won’t even boot. If I turn off adaptive sync and mess with the display port versions I can sometimes get it to boot, but I don’t always see any text (can’t get into bios).
If I plug in an HDMI cable everything works fine and then I just switch to display port and all is well. This doesn’t work with Ubuntu however.
Any ideas? I have the latest version, TUF RTX 5090 firmware etc. etc.

Monitors and MemoryIt has to negotiate DP protocols, if it doesn’t it won’t post. Graphics card works fine with other monitors with DP2.1.

Monitors and MemorySOLVED
The on screen menu has to be on when you are booting for you to be able to see the BIOS / boot text with DisplayPort 2.1.
Samsung, what are you doing? This is apparently a thing on multiple Samsung monitors. Since this monitor is a couple years old I would bet money that you are done supporting it and won't address what is an obvious bug. Folks are returning your products left and right guys! 🙂
