Hey,

Bought a 970EVO and doing some pre-deployment testing of iEEE1667 encryption.  I am also having bad luck with our Intel 7600p drives doing this - another story.

Anyway, I have the drive installed on a PC with nvme slot and Magician 5.2 is telling me it is not supported.  Anyone else got the 970EVO to work with their Magician software?  I need Magician to enable edrive capability for bitlocker hardware encryption (unless Samsung had a CLI tool for doing this?).

I did download the Samsung nvme 3.0 driver and installed with same result.

I did call Samsung support which was knowledgable, but did not offer anything useful.

Thanks for any help.

Found the Samsung NVM Express 3.0 Driver on the Samsung website (started looking after seeing a post on the ASUS Gamer forums).

The drive is now recognized in Magician 5.2.1

Having the same issue as these folks. I've got a MSI Z170-A PRO with an i5-6600K. For the record, Magician 5.2 does recognize my 850 EVO, which I have used happily for months now without issue.

I had it fixed after upgrading to Magician 5.3 from here: https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/magician/

They said there is a daily limit on the number of this software. So I found the source here https://www.techspot.com/downloads/5345-samsung-ssd-magician.html

I had this same problem with my 970 EVO Plus, using SM 5.3, with the latest NVMe driver installed, AHCI in the BIOS.  In my case, I was setting up the computer offline (no Internet access).  Once I connected the computer to the Internet, Magician recognized the drive as supported.

This does not work with XPS 9570 you must follow this guide :

this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ngnIKqPOc4

Guide by Steve Schardein can be found here: https://goo.gl/M3iyZc Command prompt code to boot to safe mode minimal: bcdedit /set safeboot minimal Command prompt code to boot back to normal windows: bcdedit /deletevalue safeboot

Restart and you ables to use the Samsung Magician
