Monitors and MemorySamsung Magician 7.2.1 fails to update the firmware.
Samsung SSD 980 PRO ITB I S5P2NSORC06093E
Current Version 4B2QGXA7 New Version 5B2QGXA7
Error displayed is: Failed to update firmware on the selected drive.
Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 22H2
OS build 22621.963
Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0
Uninstalled and completely removed all Samsung Magician files then re-installed. Firmware update still failed.
Possible Root Cause of the problem explained:
Magician is trying to download from this page: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/samsungssd/downloads.html
In the anchor tag for the 980 PRO 5B2QGXA7 firmware download, the data-an-la tag contains the value: "Samsung_SSD_980_PRO_4B2QGXA7.iso". It should contain the value: "Samsung_SSD_980_PRO_5B2QGXA7.iso". Magician is trying to download Samsung_SSD_980_PRO_4B2QGXA7.iso which does not exist. For all other firmware files on the downloads page, the data-an-la tag value matches the anchor tag filename.

Monitors and MemoryI also have the same issue. Disabled all the firewall and still not able to update using the Magician software. I am seeing the following errors in the logs.
When I tried to boot from USB using Samsung_SSD_980_PRO_5B2QGXA7.iso it is just showing a dot on a blank screen but trying with the 990 PRO iso does boot up.
What is wrong with Samsung and how to get them to help?

Monitors and MemoryI finally got this resolved by cloning the boot up drive to my Samsung EVO 980 PRO and then swapping it to the primary NVMe slot on the laptop. After I boot up, I am able to update the firmware using Magician to the latest firmware 5B2QGXA7. Hope this helps you.

Monitors and MemoryI had a short write up but it the forum box kept saying I had over 20,000 characters, even thought it was just over 1,000. Basically you can't do the update if you have 2 NVME drives loaded. Load an OS to a different drive or the 980 PRO, remove the other NVME(s) and update the 980 Pro. This is what worked for me.
