I just bought a 990 pro 2tb model # MZ-V9P2TOB/AM to upgrade my laptop and the production date is 2023 11 4
Does this come with the lastest firmware for that drive? Because we all know those drives have degradation issues. Anyone had problems with this drive. Looking for info before I decide to keep it or return it and get my money back. Any info would be greatly appreciated 👏
They should be a new version of firmware waiting to be installed once you get the drive installed then download and Install Samsung Magician on your laptop and if they are a firmware update it will prompt you to download it. I check regularly for firmware updates on mine

Yeah Samsung Magician is where you have a lot of control over your ssd so if your doing a clean install of windows install Magician right after so you can update the drive

Thanks, that was my concern. So after a clean installation of Windows and Windows update, I'll go straight to samsung and download the latest firmware. I've seen this drive perform really well in a lot of tests, and it seems like a perfect choice for music production. Thanks again for your help.
