CRG9 Low Resolution modes when using Macbook

Quick question

When connecting a macbook pro to the CRG9, the only scaled 5120 x 1440 option says (low resolution) next to it. I'm not sure exact what this means but am I not getting the full res in this mode and is there a way to solve it? Running displayport 1.4. Thank you.

Have you tried using a high resolution cable? How is the unit connected?

Hi,

Yes I'm using a DP 1.4 spec cable, guaranteed. Connected directly.

Do you have the latest drivers installed on the monitor? You can download and install the latest version by visiting the link here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/curved-gaming-monitor-crg90-series

I think you'll find that the video chip is not capable of a native 5120x1440 resolution.

2560x1440 and 4k 3840x2160 are the  best it will do.  It would have to scale a lower resolution to fill the 5140x1440 screen.
