Curved Monitor screen separating from frame

I purchased a 27" Odyssey G65B in December 2024 and received it in January 2025.  It has been sitting in the same spot on my desk for the past 6 months and has recently started to separate from the frame at the top center and there is white light bleeding out.

Does anyone have any solutions on how to fix it?  Samsung support said it wasn't covered under warranty despite it being a manufacturing defect as evidenced by others having the same issue with their curved monitors:

- If your device was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.
- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service processed. 
- If you're within the one year warranty, you can Private message me or one of our moderators or you can call in directly at 1-800- 726-7864 with your full model and serial number to have service setup
- If you're OUT of warranty, for depot type products (Soundbars, Home Theater Systems, tablets, ect.) that require to be shipped we recommend you speak with our depot team for pricing and to have the service set up: 1-310-669-4334.

Since Samsung is not going to address it I personally suggest black electrical tape to block the bleeding light.

1. The display layer is adhesively bonded to the inner structure.


2. Heat from normal use — especially gaming or HDR content — expands internal surfaces unevenly.


3. That expansion slowly breaks the adhesive tension.


4. The screen begins to bow outward from the frame, particularly at the top center where the curve radius is tightest.


5. Over time, it gets worse — resulting in visible white light bleed and in extreme cases, full detachment.



Users have tried pushing the screen back in, applying pressure, even using electrical tape — but these are bandages, not solutions.

Now here’s the crucial part:

Samsung moderators, to their credit, have responded to some posts with links and phone numbers for support and service. That’s appreciated — but it’s reactive, not preventive. What’s missing is a public, proactive acknowledgment that this is a known manufacturing issue — and a consistent policy that:

Confirms it’s covered under warranty when proven

Offers replacements or repairs even if the issue appears shortly outside of standard warranty, because the failure is systemic

And more importantly, ensures future monitors are built with reinforced frame tolerances or better thermal bonding agents


Why does this matter? Because users deserve durable hardware. Especially in premium gaming monitors that are often marketed for immersion, aesthetics, and long-term performance.

When the very screen that delivers that immersion starts peeling away, it’s more than a cosmetic issue. It’s a breakdown in trust — between user and brand, promise and reality.

To Samsung:

We’re not asking for special treatment. We’re asking for structural accountability.

Make it right for those affected — not just through quiet service calls, but with a clear update that outlines:

What models are known to be affected

How to check for early signs of separation

What steps users can take — both for prevention and service

And whether a long-term design fix is being implemented on future curved monitors


Because this isn’t about adhesive. It’s about consistency, transparency, and the agreement between product and user.

My 49" Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) has developed a panel separation issue — the panel is detaching from the frame, causing uneven curvature across the screen.
