I have an EVO 970 1TB and latest Magician. When I want to run a diagnostic scan, it says: '"The selected drive does not support this feature". So I cannot run the scan. Any help on how to resolve this?

In Magician, press Help, Get Started, and Supported feature by model, and scroll down to the EVO 970.
You will see that the EVO 970 does not in fact include Diagnostic scan.
The newer EVO 970 Plus does.
Then how would owners of the plain 970 EVO check if their drive is operating normally or not? I believe there's problems with my ssd based on data loss I've seen increase dramatically over the past few weeks. How would someone in my situation get help? @ddaniel51
Define "data loss". Are you getting errors?
I run 8 NVME in my gaming machine in a mix of 1&2 TB 960 Pro and EVO 970 without issue.
The built in housekeeping in the firmware keeps the drives running smoothly.
same issue here 970 NVM E2 EVO 500Gb.....
I contacted "help" and they advised me to look for 3rd party apps on the internet (!!)..there arent any and that answer is totally unsatisfactory I'm afraid
Why wont they let us scan the drives for errors....what are they afraid of ?
