I just bought a brand new monitor Samsung 57" Odyssey Neo G9 (G95NC)

I have NVIDIA RTX 4090 and already updated to the latest driver.

Tried changing the display settings to the following:

- Resolution: 7680 x 2160
- DisplayPort Ver. 2.1
- I'm using the provided DP2.1 cable from Samsung
- G-Sync turn off
- Refresh rate 240Hz

First, I was getting a complete black screen. Then I unplugged the cable and re-plugged, and then I got black void artifacts on the entire screen that keeps moving if move my mouse cursor/window. Is this a defective product or something related with the display settings?

After unplugging, resetting my PC, factory reset the monitor, I was able to successfully get 240Hz refresh rate but only up to 5120 x 1440 resolution using DP 1.4 cable.

If I try to switch back to 7680 x 2160, the only option I get is 60Hz refresh rate. Changing the monitor DisplayPort Ver. to 2.1 makes the screen completely black again.

The G95 is a DP 2.1 device and will not play well at DP  1.4.

Per the NVIDIA web site your NVIDIA RTX 4090  is a DP 1.4 device and is specified for 4k @240hz and 8k @ 60hz.

I see a GPU upgrade in your future for running the G95. ๐Ÿ™‚

The user manual also indicates HDMI port 1 is not for 240hz use.

Thank you VXPDSGN, for contacting us regarding your screen display concerns. It does appear you have completed all the general recommended troubleshooting steps however I would like to ask. Have you performed a picture test? Some of our monitors have a Picture test that can be found by navigating to Settings (All Settings) > Support > Self Diagnosis (Device Care > Self Diagnosis) then select Picture Test). Please keep us updated.
