Hello, I am using Mac OS Catalina and I would like to set up my Samsung SSD t7 touch to be the time machine.

What should I do to begin this process? Should I format the SSD first and set up later? If so what format should I use?

@usergva7fKc23k For an SSD (which the T7 is) APFS is the recommended format. You can format it with Disk Utility.

Connect the drive, open the Time Machine preference pane, click "Select disk...", and choose the drive.

1.connect your ssd to your mac

2.Go to settings and find the time machine option

3.It will tell you to select drive or disk, select the samsung ssd

4 Start the process to backup everything.

Btw,if the ssd needs to be formated 99% of the time, The time machine app does it by itself,if not manully formate it to APFS
